The Achterhoek poultry practice has its own laboratory, in which various studies are carried out to support the supervision of the poultry farm. In terms of diagnostics, almost anything is possible in our laboratory.
Animals can be sent in for testing and diagnostics every day of the week. In this way insight can quickly be gained into the health status of the animals. Animals can be sent in on a routine basis or to obtain a diagnosis of the problems present at the farm.
Our laboratory is specially tailored to poultry farming. Samples from section material or samples taken at the poultry farm can be directly analyzed by:
bacteriology, in which bacteria are isolated and a sensitivity test is made.
serology, through ELISA and SPA. This can be important for determining a vaccination time or for detecting antibodies against a disease that has caused problems on the farm.
parasitology, by feces research on worm eggs and coccidiosis.
PCR method to find DNA from pathogens in the sample.
