My name is Niek van Milligen. I came to work for Poultry Practice the Achterhoek in 2019, immediately after completing my study in Veterinary Medicine. I have always been drawn to intensive livestock farming. Before my studies I gained experience at a mink breeding and partly because of that I decided to study veterinary medicine. Later I worked as a freelancer in agricultural services in calf and poultry farming.
Company counseling has always appealed to me. Seeing together what goes well and what can be improved and then making a plan for it is a big but fun challenge. One of the nicest things remains to enter a stable. Every stable, every flock has its own story, which of course requires customized work. That makes it a very nice job!
I am very curious about the changes that will take place in the livestock industry in the coming period. With an increasingly less agricultural society and more and more (public) pressure on the sector, that will undoubtedly be a major challenge. It is my ambition to make a positive difference in this!
